Walking tour of the ViBe Creative District
Apr 11, 2024 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

***UPDATE TO THIS EVENT***

Due to the inclement weather forecasted for later today, we have decided to cancel our walking tour of the ViBe Creative District. We will however gather for dinner at Coach's Bar and Grill inside the Doubletree Hotel at 1900 Pavilion Drive. To celebrate National Pet Day, Coach's is donating 10% of all sales for the night to Hope for Life Animal Rescue. Since this is not an official club dinner, we will each be responsible for paying our bill.

If you can join us for dinner, please click the link to register so that we can let the restaurant know how many of us to expect.

_______

Join us on a walking tour of the ViBe Creative District with Executive Director Kate Pittman. We are still confirming all of the details of where we will park, gather, etc. If there is enough interest, we will regroup for dinner somewhere close following the tour.

*Registration is recommended to ensure you receive important updates about this club event.*

*Please take note of the different start time than what is typical for our meetings.*

The logo was designed by resident ViBe artist Igors Custom.

Our Mission

Clean the Bay Day at First Landing State Park
Jun 01, 2024 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM

Join us at First Landing State Park on Saturday, June 1st, as we participate in a large-scale cleanup of the Chesapeake Bay. Family and friends are welcome.

Clean the Bay Day has two purposes: One is to remove as much litter from our waterways and shorelines as possible. The other is to collect data on the type and amount of litter collected. That data is used by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to guide advocacy and legislation to protect our waterways.

From the State Park Volunteer Coordinator:
  • Volunteers working do not pay to park; they will be given a parking pass.
  • Do not rely on your GPS for directions using the park addresses.
    • Chesapeake Bay Beach means entering the Park on the north side of Shore Drive, the campground side; park in the main lot or by the Visitor Center.
  • Bring water, dress for the weather, and wear shoes for walking in the sand.
  • The group leader (Ross) will be responsible for getting everyone in the group signed in.
  • Once we are all signed in, we will then be given instructions and supplies. FLSP volunteers will direct you to a specific area of the beach, campground, or trail.
  • If you are unable to walk in the sand, volunteers are welcome to walk around the buildings and parking lots to collect litter- that trash ends up in the Bay, too!

We hope to see you there!
