Come join us in our biggest fundraiser of the year! A lively and well-loved event, Neptune Festival is a great combo of music, art, and beach sport fun. We'll be posted up on 24th St to sell beer and waters to festival goers. We need maximum participation from all members to fill our time slots. A minimum of 8 volunteers are required at a time throughout the weekend. Final shift of each day will be in charge of bringing the cash bank to be closed out for the day. Headliners at our location include Cowboy Mouth on Friday, Modern English on Saturday, and Skip Castro Band on Sunday! A variety of other groups will also perform. Come help Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) "Catch the King Tide!" We'll be collecting essential flooding data to assist marine biologists in understanding our changing local waterways. Exact location and time are tentatvie, and being selected with the help of our VIMS contacts, to best match the tidal movements for that day. During our next dinner meeting we will learn more about Toby's Dream Foundation from Executive Director and Founder, Joan Steele. Founded in 2009, Toby’s Dream Foundation is dedicated to bringing joy to children with life-threatening illnesses by granting them a Dream of a lifetime. This charitable foundation is focused on serving children who are treated and referred from Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Most of these children live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Greater Hampton Roads, which includes Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Isle of Wight, and parts of Eastern North Carolina and more. However, Toby’s Dream Foundation will serve any child that is treated at CHKD or Portsmouth Naval Medical Center regardless of where they live. |

Salvation Army is seeking out a big group of volunteers to assist with distributing food boxes for Thanksigiving. Come bring joy and nourishment to those who may have trouble getting food on the table this holiday season! This event is the same day as our Bingo Night, and we would like to prioritize supporting the Crisis Center since it is a Rotary run event. Many other groups will be chipping in to support the turkey distribution, and it could be a great way to meet fellow volunteers from throughout Hampton Roads. If you prefer mornings, or are unavailable in the evening that day, then this is the event for you! Interact members welcome. |

The Rotary Club of Virginia Beach continues to keep our traditions alive! Join us for this special club meeting when we will present our Doors to Opportunity and Special Achievement Awards. Let's fill the room and show how much our club appreciates the awardees! **Special Notice - As voted on by the Rotary Club of Virginia Beach Board of Director's on November 2nd, our club meetings will now follow a new schedule. We will still hold a social time beginning at 6pm and will officially start our meetings at 6:15. This will allow for enough time for any special announcements, introductions of any guests and visiting Rotarian's and for presentations. It is our goal to always end our meetings by 7:30pm. |

We will be broken into two 2-hour shifts. A second event is being created for an afternoon shift on December 9th, so if you wish to participate both days, please RSVP to both! Interact members are welcome. If we have enough interest, we can reserve additional shifts. Add your preferred shift in the comments when you register. 1st shift is 10am-12pm and 2nd shift is 12-2pm. This annual fundraiser benefits the Friends of First Landing, a group whose mission is to act as a non-profit Citizens Support Organization to assist in conserving the natural, cultural, scenic, and recreational resources of First Landing State Park; to assist in providing a variety of recreational and educational opportunities; and to assist in promoting environmental stewardship of Virginia’s most visited state park. The Festival is a non-profit performing arts organization with a mission to bring world-class performing arts to Hampton Roads through partnerships, education, and culture. Join us for a tour of Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Brock Environmental Center. Following the tour, we will gather for dinner nearby, where we will have another new member induction. --- The Chesapeake Bay Foundation built the Brock Environmental Center to engage, inform, and inspire generations about the environment and how we can all help save the Bay. It serves as the hub of CBF's Virginia Beach programs and is home to a mobile oyster restoration center and the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Environmental Studies Program for high school students. The Brock Environmental Center, located at Pleasure House Point in Virginia Beach, is an innovative example of environmentally sensitive and smart building—among the first in the nation to embrace energy and water independence—and advances CBF's efforts to defend one of the nation's most valuable and threatened natural resources, the Chesapeake Bay. |

We have exclusive access to the planetarium, which has 90 seats available. To be a part of this awe-inspiring event, please register yourself and your guests (ages 6 and above are recommended). This is sure to be an experience to cherish for a lifetime.

Come on out and help distribute Girl Scout cookies to all of Virginia Beach! This event was a blast last year, and you definitely won't need to work out for a couple days after... This will involve unpacking cookie boxes from trucks, then counting and placing them into the vehicles each Girl Scout troop drives up. At the end fo the day, volunteers have historically received a free box of cookies! Final registration numbers are due to the event coordinatora by February 14th. There will be 2 shift options released at a later date (likely 7-10 and 10-1), or you can come help the whole time. Interact members welcome! |
