Tour of the NEW Crisis Intervention Home
Mar 02, 2023 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM

We have been invited for a tour of the updated Crisis Intervention Home by new Program Director, James Butts, Jr.

As you have likely heard, the center has been closed for several months while they made improvements and updates to the space.

The expectation is that the tour will take approximately 30 minutes.

I am open to meeting up somewhere afterwards for drinks or dinner if others are interested but it will be separate from the tour and not an official club activity.

The location address will be shared prior to the tour with those that register.

Mar 09, 2023 6:00 PM

Join us for a farewell gathering at New Realm Brewing for our long-standing member, Hearst Vann. Hearst has announced his retirement and will be relocating with his partner, Debbie, down to the outer banks of North Carolina. Let's give them a warm and friendly farewell to help them celebrate these milestone life changes and to thank Hearst for his commitment, leadership and involvement in the Rotary Club of Virginia Beach.

Registration is required for an accurate head count.

All guests should be prepared to pay for own food and drink.

Girl Scout cookie drop
Mar 25, 2023 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM

The annual Girl Scout cookie drop supports female entrepreneurship and celebrates the moment 1,000,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies land in Greater Hampton Roads. Volunteers are needed to help with traffic control and loading cookies from the line into the cars of the Girl Scout troop leaders, who then get the cookies in the hands of the “Cookie Entrepreneur Officers” aka, the girls. Volunteers can choose their shift (7:00 am – 10:00 am or 9:30 am – 12:30 pm or work all day).

Think of this morning as a giant assembly line like in the episode of I Love Lucy, where Lucy and Ethel are working in the chocolate factory. It is super fun, and a day with a lot of press. It would be wonderful to show the community how much Rotary supports the Empowering Girls Initiative. The best part of this volunteer experience is each volunteer gets one of the first boxes of Girl Scout cookies!!

Once you have indicated your interest in volunteering by accepting this invitation, I will email you for which shift you would like to work (7:00 am – 10:00 am or 9:30 am – 12:30 pm or work all day).
